WORK HARD and HELP OTHERS
The Viking Challenge is a strength challenge for all ages. The whole purpose of this challenge is to honor our Veterans by raising money for the American Legion.
Why?
I am doing this because of my dad Jeff Cox, for one of my best friends Cary Wieland, for my father-in-law Bill Mcloud, for my best friend’s dad Gary Lemberg, and for all the other men and women that have served. Most people have a friend or family member that has served for our great nation! Now it’s our turn to honor these brave men and women and return the favor!
My dad was an army veteran who served with the Yorkville American Legion Post #489 for 30 years. While at the legion, he held many positions where his main goal was to help others. He was the chairman of the Gifts to the Yanks program, which is a program that gives gifts to veterans that are hospitalized. He would drive all over the state of Illinois, making sure that every veteran received a gift and was not forgotten at Christmas.
Work Hard and Help Others was my Dad’s mission and I am doing this challenge to continue his hard work of helping others! Like my dad and so many others that served our great nation, they paid the ultimate sacrifice! This is our chance to help support those who willingly choose to serve and protect others!
Events:
The challenge consists of 7 events which are:
1. RAGNAR

You choose the amount of weight that you want to use for each event.

For kids 12 and under they will only run thru each event one time. Using Ragnar as an example they would do a farmer’s carry, push-ups, and then sprint down and back. They would then move on to the next event. They are not doing multiple rounds for time.
